Bijouxs Bits: Little Jewels Around the World

Bijouxs, the little jewels from the kitchen are a joy to behold; lovely, little classic recipes, pantry items, and kitchen products that last a lifetime, and now more ever Bijouxs make prefect sense; investing in things that will stand the test of time. Here are just a few little bits I treasure for the kitchen and home, plus a little journey of Bijouxs from around the world.

Toyls of Labur is a website/store store that features Bijouxs from all over the world, that is, vendors that have been making beautiful, durable and functional products for hundreds of years. Many of the items pictured from their site are Bijouxs I myself treasure and use in the kitchen and garden.

First up is Peterboro Basket Co., simply a national treasure. The lined picnic/pie basket is my pick (due to the fact that I am quite clumsy and tend to spill) and Peterboro makes a wonderful selection of baskets that are fabulous for taking food to/from events. Of course there is a nod to the Bijouxs perennial favorite kitchen tool, the sandwich spreader (wavy and smooth edge) by Lamson & Goodnow, from their classic line of walnut handled kitchen tools aptly named Pro Granny Walnut Tools. deWit garden tools really do last a lifetime, my little hand trowel is still going strong after 20 plus years, great for planting potted herbs and vegetables.

So sit back in your armchair and take a trip to see the other wonderful Bijouxs from around the world, little bits courtesy of Toyls of Labur and a Bijouxs thanks to our Canadian readers, and readers of Bijouxs around the world.

As always, enjoy. B

  1. Terrific seeing you again yesterday. I myself am a Lamson and Goodnow fan. Something else in common. GREG

    1. Hi Greg! Good to be able to chat with you – like the smaller venue. Loved hearing about your Norway journey. Agreed, Lamson and Goodnow is a true Bijouxs. Thank you for being a part of Bijouxs!
