Toast and coffee, what mornings are made of. Beautiful toast recipes appear everywhere, both savory and sweet versions. When finally I made my way back home to LA I had a couple of restaurant requests. Botanica was one on the list, located in a favorite Silverlake area I used to frequent. Happy to be back to the fresh-forward food I so crave. This toast is a hybrid of my favorite toast(s) – maple tahini + buttery thick brioche bread, a nod to my other favorite restaurant.
Coffee Maple Tahini Toast is easy to make a simple but lovely way to start the day. The coffee maple tahini can be made ahead, then just toast the buttery bread, top with fruit and breakfast is served. I discovered coffee maple syrup at one of my favorites in town and added it to the tahini spread – yum. This toast is just as delicious with plain real maple syrup. The coffee maple syrup is not a one-trick-pony. Lavish it over ice cream, yogurt, or how about in a cocktail?
