Bijouxs Bits: The Little Black Dress

Every woman has a little black dress. The little black dress is a dress you can count on, reaching for it ensures you will look and feel great. The little black dress is versatile, it can be dressed up or down, in fact, you may even choose to make some minor alterations to make it your own, creating a dress that fits you well. The little black dress is a classic, yet it is always updated to reflect the times in which we live. Bijouxs has a recipe of sorts based on the little black dress.

Bijouxs: Little Jewels from the Kitchen is celebrating its six-month anniversary. The very young Bijouxs studio/kitchen has much to celebrate this May; here are just a couple of bits.

Bijouxs recipes are now included in Foodily, the cool new recipe/menu/social website. Foodily we love you!

This month Bijouxs also has its first photo entry (Bijouxs Deviled Eggs) added to the fast paced food photography site Tastespotting.

Bijouxs extends a sincere thank you to both of these sites.

Now, what about the little black dress? Every creative venture starts with your first great idea, that’s the spine. Twyla Tharp states in her book The Creative Habit “The idea is the toehold that gets you started. The spine is the statement you make to yourself outlining your intentions for the work. You intend to tell this story. You intend to explore this theme. You intend to employ this structure. The audience may infer it or not. But if you stick to your spine, the piece will work.”

The little black dress is the spine of Bijouxs: Little Jewels from the Kitchen. The intention is to create a food website that delivers recipes, pantry items, kitchen products and vendors with enduring qualities and exquisite craftsmanship. The story and theme are a natural evolution of my working talents: food, design and fashion = the Bijouxs. I share what I have learned. Bijouxs is about a style evolved. The structure is a website design that is visual, with a clean classic style, and easy to access. Thank you again to Hi Design for interpreting the Bijouxs brand.

Bijouxs’ spine is the little black dress: a food website you can count on; easy to use; providing an emphasis on recipes and products with enduring qualities; functional, recipes you can dress up or dress down; and by all means please make alterations to create your own Bijouxs: The Little Jewels from the Kitchen that fit you well.

Bijouxs is working towards bringing to you an expanded collection of little jewels, products and services. Thank you for being a part of Bijouxs.

As always, enjoy. B
