Summertime Sour Cherry Crisp

The last of my frozen sour cherries are now gone, No. 664 Summertime Sour Cherry Crisp marks the end of summer – sweet Summertime Sour Cherry Crisp.

SIMPLE DESSERT

I love the simplicity of this crisp recipe. Just mix the cherries with the 1 tablespoon of flour and sugar then turn into the baking pan.

CLASSIC CRISP TOPPING

Next make the crisp topping by mixing the flour, oats, brown sugar and butter together with your fingertips to create small marble-sized pieces.

Sprinkle the crisp topping over the cherries and bake-now that’s a beautifully simple dessert. Bake and remove from oven.

SERVE WARM WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM

Serve while still warm and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, optional of course.
