Shh…the sauce is a secret. Yes, truth be told, the sauce is the secret to my Baked Ziti with Sausage. Winter is upon us so let’s stay warm with a little jewel from my Family & Friends Cookbook.
Back home in California, I am happy to see rain and snow abounding this year, happy news for our water situation. Here is a recipe with warmth and comfort from the Bijouxs kitchen, a treasured little jewel.
You may ask, do I really need another pasta sauce recipe? The answer is yes! This one is very unique. As you read the list of ingredients, you may think, really? Yes, the spices are the key to a unique sauce, an original, like a dear friend who shared the recipe, which I have adapted.
The basic sauce is easy to make. Just mix the seasoning together ahead, as it seasons other dishes as well. (See recipe card) This recipe makes a plenty of sauce, which you can easily freeze for later use. The smell of this sauce is heaven on a cold rainy day.
For my new followers, a bit about Bijouxs Little Jewels from the Kitchen. I have devoted my blog to sharing my Little Jewels from the Kitchen, collected over 30 years of cooking, both personal and professional as a personal chef. A jewel box of recipes, some new, some old-all delicous and accessible to the home cook. The Little Jewel Recipes are even easier to collect with my series of digital cookbooks, this recipe from the Family & Friends Cookbook. Check it out in my lovely little shop->
Thank you all for spending time at Bijouxs!
As always, enjoy. B
